Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Straightforward answers about how Saulved works, what we offer, and what to expect.

Microsoft Licenses & Costs

Do I need to purchase my Microsoft licenses through Saulved?
No — you're not required to buy licenses through us. You're free to purchase directly through Microsoft or another reseller.

That said, many clients choose to purchase through Saulved because it simplifies things: one bill, one point of contact, and we always know your exact licensing state so we can advise accurately. We're transparent about our margins and will never recommend more than you actually need. If it makes sense for your situation, we'll say so; if it doesn't, we'll tell you that too.
How does Microsoft 365 licensing actually work?
Microsoft 365 is a per-user, per-month subscription. Each person in your organization gets their own license assigned to them, which determines what apps and services they can access (email, Teams, desktop Office apps, advanced security, etc.).

The three main tiers for small and mid-size businesses are Business Basic ($6/user), Business Standard ($12.50/user), and Business Premium ($22/user). The right choice depends on what your team actually needs — not just the cheapest option that technically works.
Will Saulved charge me more than buying directly from Microsoft?
Our licensing prices are competitive with Microsoft's direct prices. As a Microsoft Partner, we purchase through the Partner channel and pass that pricing through to clients. In some cases we can offer flexibility on billing terms (monthly vs. annual) that Microsoft's direct portal doesn't always provide. We'll always show you what you're paying and why.

Engagements & Expectations

What's the minimum commitment to work with Saulved?
It depends on the type of engagement. Advisory services typically start with a 3-month minimum — we need that time to genuinely understand your environment and provide meaningful guidance, not just surface-level recommendations. After that, arrangements are flexible.

Implementation projects are scoped and priced per statement of work — there's no ongoing minimum unless you add a support or advisory tier. Managed services are structured as monthly recurring engagements with standard 30-day termination notice.
Can I keep using my existing devices and systems?
Absolutely. We work with what you have. We'll assess your current hardware and software during onboarding and give you an honest picture of what's working, what's approaching end-of-life, and what can stay as-is. We'll never push unnecessary upgrades — if your current setup is fine, we'll tell you.

If hardware does need replacing, we can source, configure, and deploy devices (Surface, Dell, Lenovo, HP) as part of our procurement service.
Do you work with businesses outside of Florida?
Yes. All of our services are delivered remotely. Our advisory, licensing, and managed services clients are spread across the country. Physical presence is rarely required for Microsoft-focused engagements — and when it is, we'll discuss that during scoping.
How quickly can we get started?
For advisory and licensing-only engagements, typically within 1–2 weeks of a signed agreement. For larger implementation projects, we'll set a detailed project timeline during the scoping call — most mid-size deployments take 30–60 days from kickoff to go-live, depending on complexity and how ready your organization is.

What's Included & How Support Works

What's the difference between advisory and managed services?
Advisory is strategic. We meet regularly, review your environment, guide your technology decisions, and help you plan ahead. Think of it as having a part-time CTO who knows your business — without the full-time salary.

Managed services means we're actively monitoring, maintaining, and supporting your environment on an ongoing basis — handling issues, applying updates, watching for security threats, and keeping things running. Many clients start with advisory and layer in managed services as the relationship grows.
What Microsoft products do you support?
Our primary focus is the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystem:

Microsoft 365 (all Business and Enterprise plans) • Teams • Teams Phone • SharePoint • OneDrive • Microsoft Intune • Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) • Microsoft Defender (Antivirus, for Business, for Endpoint) • Power Apps • Power Automate • Power BI • Copilot Studio • Dynamics 365 • RapidStart CRM • Microsoft 365 Copilot • Microsoft 365 Backup
What happens if something breaks outside business hours?
Our support tiers include defined response windows. Our Lite support tier covers standard business hours. Our full MSP tier includes extended availability and defined SLAs for critical issues.

For clients with truly critical systems, we establish clear escalation paths during onboarding so there's no ambiguity about how to reach us when it matters. Contact us to discuss what's right for your situation.
Do you offer a free initial assessment?
Yes. We start every potential engagement with a no-obligation discovery conversation. From there, if it makes sense, we'll do a more detailed assessment of your environment — licensing, security posture, infrastructure, and gaps. That assessment gives you real value whether you engage us further or not.
